Welcome!

We are a community, faith-based, transitional housing and self-sufficiency program for motivated families with minor children who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

Our working solution is…

...the journey taken by the families participating in the Resurrection House program. It occurs not in one day but over time. It begins in faith – faith by participants that with trust, motivation, and hard work, they will gain skills that will help them achieve not only economic self-sufficiency but also be-come spiritually and emotion-ally whole; faith on our part that God will direct each of us who works with these families to guide, encourage, and show them how to change their lives so they never again are homeless, poor, and without hope.

Every day our courageous families overcome incredible challenges to change their lives and end the cycle of welfare dependency. These miracles require enormous re-sources; we cannot do it without your support. Res-urrection House receives no government funding. Thank you for visiting our website. Please continue exploring to learn more about our program, to make a donation, or to volunteer to help rebuild lives, to renew faith, and to change our community for the better!

President’s Message

Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving is not just a day...it is a period of time, a lifetime if we are fortunate to see our journey that way.

Just so is the journey taken by the homeless and working-poor families participating in the Resurrection House program. It occurs not in one day but over time. It begins in faith—faith by participants that with trust, motivation, and hard work they will gain skills that will help them achieve not only economic self-sufficiency but also become spiritually and emotionally whole. There, also, is faith on our part that God will direct each of us who works with these families to guide, encourage, and show them how to redirect their lives so they never again are homeless, poor, and without hope. There, finally, is faith on your part that we are being good stewards of the support you give us and that we are helping families achieve worthy goals.

The seasons are marked with their own, unique colors. When you look at our participants, you can, almost, see them take on a different "color," as they leave the dark and bleakness of their former lives, are resurrected by loving support, are provided a beautiful place to live, are given counseling and case management, and are blessed with all of the services to find new life, and then emerge glowing with the victory of their accomplishments. This time in our program provides not only op-portunity to work on tangible goals, but also to reflect on the past, to set aside old ways of thinking and doing, and to prepare to be new beings inwardly as well as outwardly. This is sacred time for all of us. God is working in all of us — in the families, in the staff, and in you our supporters. All are necessary to make Resurrection House the success it is as we now move into our 25th year of ministry.

We celebrate fresh possibilities and new beginnings out of old endings. Please continue to pray for Resurrection House, for the work being done to change our community for the better for everyone. As you count your blessings this Thanksgiving, please consider "paying it forward" with a financial contribution that, you know, really will make a difference.

God bless you!
