William
and his family were participants in the Resurrection House
program from 2002-2005. We’re thrilled to share that
William has entered St. Petersburg College and tells us he
loves it!
We are proud of William and all he has
accomplished. We know the support through tutoring,
counseling, education, and caring while living at
Resurrection House helped William be the great young man he
is today!

Abby
and her daughters Elizabeth and Julia are
standing in our beautiful courtyard as they model their new
outfits from Dignity U Wear, a foundation started by
noted philanthropist and humanitarian Henri Land-wirth.
Dignity U Wear creates primary partnerships with key
manufacturers and retailers who provide new clothing that
is then collected and stored by Dignity U Wear.
Through
partnership with local Stein Mart stores,
Resurrection House participants are recipients of this
brand new clothing. This means adults and kids can work or
go to school feeling great about themselves because they
know they’re looking good!

Mary Ann
Futch, Kaylen Weeks, Abby Miner, Ann Vickstrom, and
Joanne
Browning were the lucky winners of this year’s Hot and Spicy
Makeover Magic, the Resurrection House Auxiliary’s themed
brunch and fashion show in the Sunset Ballroom of the
Renaissance Vinoy Golf Club on September 30th.
Makeovers
were compliments of the staff at JCon Salon & Spa,
Marion’s,
Mary Kay Make-up (Debbie Patrick and Cathy Littlejohn), and
Stein Mart. Over 160 guests sipped mimosas and enjoyed
chocolates by Schakolad Chocolate Factory.
Many thanks to
our many sponsors who made this day possible through their
financial support: Lisa Smithson & Co., Judy and Troy
Holland, Gwendolyn Murray-Johnson, Anderson-McQueen Funeral
and Cremation Centers, Carol and Langston Holland,
Stephen
J. Klemawesch, M.D., DeLisa and Alan Christ, Kathryn and
Geoff Boyajian, Nancy Pate-Nelson, and Pinellas Fastener.
Faith
(in picture with Xander) has been awarded a Pinellas Habitat
for Humanity home!
While it will be late
summer 2008 before her new home is ready, she begins preparations now for
the eventual transition.
Faith has been running
the daycare for infants and toddlers, completing her under-graduate
degree in Deaf Culture and Special Education, raising her son
Alexander, as well as meeting all the other rigorous requirements of
the Resurrection House program.
