Our
Mission
|
The mission of Florida Resurrection House, Inc. is to provide a
community, faith-based, transitional housing and self-sufficiency
program for motivated families with minor children who are homeless or
at risk of being homeless.
In pursuit of our mission, Resurrection House will bring about results
in these four areas:

We
will equip participants with
the skills to lead stable,
self-sufficient lives,
including offering services
intended to end the cycle of poverty
for participating minor children.

We
will assist participants
physically, mentally, emotionally, and
spiritually.
-
We will help participants become
tax-paying, contributing members of
the community
that has supported them.
-
We
will accomplish our mission with
no government funding.

Resurrection House is a program to change lives, not just a
place to live.
 Families
know they are safe and secure in our beautiful, furnished 2- and
3-bedroom apartments. Since 1987, more than 500 families have
completed our intensive, long-term program. Most of these
families work and attend school, graduating from Resurrection
House into solid careers, into permanent housing, and into
bright futures for their children and themselves.
 A
typical participant is one of our moms who came into our program
with a 3-month old daughter and no formal education. Since
entering Resurrection House, she has become a Licensed Practical
Nurse and continues at St. Petersburg College to become a
Registered Nurse. At the same time, she volunteers, publishes a
participant newsletter, and is very active in her faith life.
Another participant has paid off all debt, completed Pinellas
Technical Education Center as a Licensed Pharmacy Technician,
works in a major hospital, and continues her education at St.
Petersburg College. She came to us broke and living in her
parents home in a very negative environment. Our program
works!
Success means
permanent, positive change,
